Ingredients:

For the meat sauce:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef (alternative to pork)
1 pound ground turkey
1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the cheese mixture:
15 ounces ricotta cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
12 lasagna noodles, cooked
Additional 1 cup shredded mozzarella for topping

Directions:

Prepare the meat sauce:
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until softened.
Add ground beef and turkey, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Prepare the cheese mixture:
In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, egg, and parsley until well combined.

Assemble the lasagna:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Layer four lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
