Thai Chicken Meatballs with Peanut Sauce

Thai Chicken Dumplings with Peanut Sauce is a flavorful dish made of chicken dumplings seasoned with Thai herbs and spices, served with a rich and creamy peanut sauce. It’s a balanced dish in flavors, combining salty, sweet, spicy and slightly sour notes.

History and Origin
Thai cuisine is known for its complex flavors and fresh ingredients. Meatballs (or chicken) are a common staple in many Asian cuisines, including Thai cuisine. Peanut sauce, although popular in several regions of Southeast Asia, is often associated with Thai cuisine. It is used in various dishes, including satays (meat skewers) and salads. The use of peanuts in sauces adds a richness and depth of flavor, characteristic of Thai cuisine.

Ingredients:
500 grams of minced chicken
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 grated carrot
2 tablespoons of hat
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
1 teaspoon of fresh coriander, chopped
1 teaspoon fish sauce (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for cooking

Ingredients for peanut sauce :
200 ml of coconut milk
3 tablespoons of peanut butter
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of lime juice
1 teaspoon of red curry paste (adjust according to spice tolerance)
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped

Instructions :

Making Chicken Dumplings :
In a large bowl, mix minced chicken, garlic, onion, grated carrot, egg,  capelure , soy sauce, ginger, coriander, fish sauce (if used), salt and pepper.
Form balls the size of a walnut with the mixture.
Heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat. Bake the chicken dumplings until golden brown and well cooked inside, about 10-12 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper.

2.Making peanut sauce :
In a small saucepan, mix coconut milk, peanut butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, red curry paste and garlic.
Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

3.To Serve :
Serve hot chicken dumplings with peanut sauce on the side or poured on top. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and crushed roasted peanuts, so desired.
– With jasmine rice or stir-fried vegetables.

Chicken and Vegetable Dumplings: Add finely chopped vegetables such as peppers, zucchini or mushrooms to the chicken mixture.
Green Curry Chicken Dumplings: Add green curry batter to the chicken mixture for a more intense and spicier flavour.

Sesame Chicken Dumplings: Coat the chicken dumplings in sesame seeds before baking for a nutty flavor and crispy texture.
Chicken Lemongrass Dumplings: Incorporate finely chopped lemonade into the chicken mixture for an aromatic and cool touch.
