Spaghetti with minced meat, also known as spaghetti bolognese or spaghetti with meat sauce, is a classic and popular dish in many parts of the world. It typically consists of spaghetti pasta served with a sauce made from ground/minced meat (often beef or pork), tomatoes, onions, garlic, and herbs. Here’s a basic recipe you can follow:
-
250g pasta
-
water
-
1 teaspoon of salt
-
oil
-
1 onion
-
3 cloves of garlic
-
400g of ground beef
-
1 teaspoon of salt
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon of paprika
-
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
-
1/2 yellow pepper
-
1 tomato
-
1/2 red pepper
-
1/2 green pepper
-
1 cup olive
-
300ml tomato sauce
-
Parmesan
Instructions:
- Cook the spaghetti:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente (usually about 10-12 minutes).
- Drain the spaghetti, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
- Make the sauce:
- In a large skillet or frying pan, heat some olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the minced meat to the pan, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the tomato paste, dried oregano, and dried basil, cooking for another minute to let the flavors meld.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes (with their juices) and bring to a simmer.
- Let the sauce simmer gently for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. If the sauce gets too thick, you can add some of the reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
- Combine and serve:
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with the sauce.
- Toss everything together gently until the spaghetti is well coated with the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves if desired.
Enjoy your delicious spaghetti with minced meat! It’s a hearty and comforting meal that’s perfect for any day of the week.
