Homemade Flatbreads with Parsley and Chili Flakes

These homemade flatbreads are soft, flavorful, and perfect for any meal. Infused with the freshness of parsley and a hint of chili flakes, they bring a delicious burst of flavor that pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes.

Ingredients:
Chili flakes
500 g (1 pound) flour
150 ml (5 fl. oz) warm milk
150 ml (5 fl. oz) warm water
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp dry yeast
3 tbsp olive oil (plus more for brushing)
Chopped parsley

Method:

Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and dry yeast.

Add Wet Ingredients:
Pour in the warm milk and warm water into the flour mixture.
Stir until the liquids are absorbed.

Knead the Dough:
Add the olive oil to the mixture.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Let the Dough Rise:
Form the dough into a ball.
Lightly coat the dough ball with vegetable oil.
Place the dough in a warm place to rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Shape the Dough:
After the dough has risen, divide it into 6 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a ball.
Roll out each ball into a flatbread shape.

Cook the Flatbreads:
Preheat a pan over medium-high heat.
Cook each flatbread for 5-6 minutes, flipping after 2.5-3 minutes. The flatbread should puff up and form a pocket when flipped.

Finish and Serve:
Brush each hot flatbread with olive oil.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and chili flakes for added flavor.
