Ingredients:
For the Jerk Marinade:
1 tablespoon allspice
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 green onions, chopped
1 Scotch bonnet pepper, seeded and minced (optional for extra heat)

For the Jerk Steak:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
1/2 lb (225g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Salt and pepper to taste

For the Yellow Rice:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup long-grain rice
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 cups chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:
1️⃣ For the Jerk Marinade:
In a blender or food processor, combine all the marinade ingredients: allspice, thyme, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, ground ginger, black pepper, soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, lime juice, green onions, and Scotch bonnet pepper (if using). Blend until smooth.

2️⃣ For the Jerk Steak & Shrimp:
Season the steaks and shrimp with salt and pepper. Place the steaks and shrimp in separate resealable bags or shallow dishes. Pour half of the jerk marinade over the steaks and the other half over the shrimp. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably 2 hours.

3️⃣ For the Yellow Rice:
In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the rice and turmeric, stirring to coat the rice in the oil and spice. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the rice is lightly toasted.
Add the chicken broth and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and keep warm.

4️⃣ To Cook the Jerk Steak & Shrimp:
Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest.
Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are pink and opaque.

5️⃣ To Serve:
Slice the steak and serve alongside the grilled shrimp over a bed of yellow rice. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
